XFA Managing Partners are pleased to welcome Bill Looney – former Vice President, Head of Index Options Strategy at Cboe Global Markets. Bill will join the XFA team as Managing Director – Head of Global Business Development. In this role, Bill will oversee the firm’s Global Business Development efforts. XFA’s Senior Managing Partner – Tim Hendricks said, “Adding Bill to the XFA team strengthens our position as a global leader in derivatives and futures execution services. With XFA’s plans to introduce new tools and strategic trading opportunities for our global customer base, Bill’s sales trading and exchange pedigree creates a new dimension of capability for XFA both internally and externally.”
Prior to joining XFA, Bill led the strategy and development for Cboe’s Global Index Options product suite, including S&P 500 (SPX options), Cboe Volatility Index (VIX) options, Russell 2000 (RUT) options and MSCI options. The Index Option business is Cboe’s largest top-line revenue business unit. Under his management, the Index business achieved back to back record results for 2017 and 2018. Additionally, Bill’s prior mandates included Global Business Development for Buy-Side accounts and managing the Cboe New York office as lead account manager for the Global Investment banks.
Prior to joining Cboe Global Markets, Bill spent 10+ years as a Senior Institutional Equity Derivatives Sales Trader. He held posts at Citigroup, Credit Suisse and Alliance Bernstein. His account base included Hedge Funds and Asset Managers engaged in directional and volatility based options trading. Bill graduated with honors from George Mason University School of Business with a B.S. in Finance.
